Working out measurement's and timing + an animatic

Annabeth pointed out to me in time that we hadn't really planned that much at all, so before we were to start our animation i thought it was best if i planned everything out like we should have done to start with, i know from doing it i have a much clearer idea of the whole animation now as in timing and what goes where.
I drew up some plans of the environment as a whole thinking of where things were to go realistically and working out how long it would take to get mammoo there.

I also constructed a time sheet which shows how long everything in the 1 minute scene will be doing anything for. This really helped to give me a better understanding of camera shot times, time lapse times and how long a character would be doing something. I'm also going to create an animatic so we all can see a better understanding of the animation before we start this week.
Here's the time sheet-

I showed this to wizzy and jess and i think it really helped them and myself out to now see how long our animations should be and where everything would fit. Without this we would have struggled a lot.

One of the main things i had to work out measurement wise was the god damn ice plane and ice crack as the plane was huge in comparison to the ultra tiny crack which was to be a little smaller than the robot so it could burst out of the ice.

look how small it was in comparison! :O!

so i had to use my head and measure things out using unity and maya as reference i used the subdivisons in maya to count where i would need to make the crack and used the measurements of the axis in unity to tell how big i need to make the overall plane.

Lastly i had to work out the character measurements and prop measurements -

After painstakingly working all these little details out and using what little math i had left form highschool... in the end it was well worth it.
I then took everything i learned from it and made an animatic so my team could use it for there animations.

If your wondering the soundtrack to the animatic is Princess Mononoke Theme Song (Instrumental Version)
