The first day of BAF was pretty good the whole day was pretty much watching films done by other students that had entered into competitions and BAF itself. It was great to see all the variety and different styles as there isn't a set brief and they can come from all over the place.
We also looked around the media museum as you do and they have a new games room set up upstairs, always great to go in there and have a little old school play but they have a new thing in there now, i'm not sure what it's called but i think it uses sound or possibly light? To visually capture your movements and display them on screen. I have no idea how it works or about it but it was fascinating to see, next time i go i'm gonna ask about it. Here's some of the pic below-
This animation style was great it had an old feel to it and a great soundtrack that matched the tone of the animation. It was like 1940's - 1950's style i think.
This style below was fascinating to watch although the story was rather boring and it was slow. It was like they had layered paper over paper and used stop motion to create an effect i havent seen before.
This was another great one the colours they used were so simple but everything just went so well together and the storyline was great. Really quirky and an original idea with a cultural feel to it. I'm sad that i couldn't get a recording of it, i've looked on youtube but as i cant rememebr the name it's no good :/
Here's also some videos from the day. BAF is such a good experience for us and has some great information. I'm gonna keep going even when i leave college.
